3 HOTEL OPTIONS: Marriott Suites, AmeriSuites, Days Inn (1) The Scottsdale Marriott Suites have almost sold out due to the high number of IGS2003 participants. The last rooms can be reserved at a rate of US$200/night. (2) IGS2003 has reserved rooms at a second hotel, AmeriSuites Old Town Scottsdale, located across the street from the Marriott. Each room is a suite, and includes a refridgerator, microwave, and high-speed internet service. Room rates are $89/night, including a continential breakfast. Please contact the hotel directly to make a reservations, using the Promo Code IGS2003. If reserving a room by fax, please send your information “Attention: Reservations, Promo Code: IGS2003”. NOTE: It is recommended that only one person interacts with the hotel for the reservation and the sharing of costs will be among the group. The hotel does not play any role in the room sharing process and will not split the bills. The respective occupants will have to arrange for splitting the bills among themselves. |

CONFERENCE CENTER. Dress Code: Causal business attire.
The First Health Conference Center (See pictures in huge, 2.03 Mb PDF document), 4141 N Scottsdale Rd, is 5 minutes walking South across the courtyard from the Marriott Suites hotel. See also Rules/policies. The prefered audiovisual means are: Powerpoint, and overhead transparencies. Please, e-mail your ppt file to VanGemmert@asu.edu before the conference. The following audiovisual means will be provided: o Podium o Speaker stand o Microphone o PC Laptop, MS Powerpoint, CD/DVD, floppy disk, zip drive, USB and XVGA (1024 x 768 pixels), with scroll-wheel mouse, or bring your own PC laptop. o Overhead projector for transparancies or papers with zoom facility. o VCR (only NTSC, not PAL) o All images will be rear-projected on 2 large screens plus are visible on 2 large monitors in the theatre. Not possible are: Using more than one display source simultaneously, slide projector, writing board. o The conference center has 10 telephones for free domestic calls plus telephone modem hook-ups. o The conference center has a staffed business center for printing, copying, faxing free of charge for small volumes. |

Official IGS/AFDE BANQUET
Scottsdale Culinary Institute – Tuesday – November 4, 2003, 6:30 – 10 pm. The banquet will be held at L’Academie, located in the Scottsdale Culinary Insitute, a 5 minute walk North from the Conference Venue (Click to view a picture). L’Academie is a Bistro-style cafe specialized in Southern France and Northern Italian cuisine that offers an a la carte menu of salads, gilled panini sandwiches, hand-made gourmet pizzas, and classic entrees such as bouillabaisse and freshly-made pasta dishes. Guests will order directly off the menu, and wine will be served with dinner. The Institute requests that not more than two people per table order the same entree. Jake and Ange Good Bear, Native American flute players, will provide entertainment and discuss their culture. Preregistration required: Reservations for the banquet must be made by Friday, October 31st. The Institute will not be able to accomodate walk-ins at the banquet. |

Rawhide (Details)
A bus will leave from the Marriott Suites hotel on Monday, November 3, 2003, 6:30. Back around 10 pm. Program includes Cowboy style Dinner cookout with barbeque, Entertainment – Live Western music, Rawhide wranglers. Costs- $60 per person includes transportation, dinner cook out sessions and entertainment. If you wish to attend, please indicate on the registration form or the online payment form. (Preregistration required). |
